When Is the Right Time to Get a Breast Lift?
Since every breast lift patient has unique needs and aesthetic goals, there is no ideal age for undergoing the procedure. The surgery is designed to remove excess skin, elevate the position of the breasts, adjust the size and location of the nipple-areola complex, and improve the overall shape of the breasts. Once the breasts are fully developed, breast lift surgery can typically be performed anytime a woman might benefit from these cosmetic enhancements.
Our plastic surgeons do advise mothers that future pregnancies and breastfeeding may impact the results of their breast lift. While it should be safe for women who have had a breast lift to become pregnant after the procedure, the results will likely be compromised in the process. Consequently, our plastic surgeons recommend women wait until they have completed their families to schedule the procedure. If needed, however, a second breast lift surgery can be performed to restore the original results. As always, the best way to determine your candidacy for any cosmetic procedure is to schedule a consultation with an experienced plastic surgeon.
